
Bruce Scott McGee, 63, of Lorena, passed away at his
home Monday, June 20, 2011. The family will receive
visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Pecan Grove
Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Bruce was born July 25, 1947, in an orphanage in Peoria,
Ill. He was adopted by Marshall and Mary Ann McGee
in 1948. He graduated from Richfield High in 1965, and
in 1969, graduated with honors from Baylor in accounting.
Bruce's first job out of college was for Rainbow Bread
Company as a traveling auditor. He later worked in
the oil industry, traveling the world as an accountant.
His favorite experience was traveling the Concord, and
seeing the curvature of the world. He married the love
of his life, Judy Haferkamp, April 14, 1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and
father-in-law, Warren Gelushia and Genell Johnson;
and his beloved doggies, Punky, Jumper, and Gracie.
He is survived by his soul mate, Judy McGee; children,
Rona Necessary and Rusty Haferkamp and wife, Carolyn;
grandchildren, Nathan Necessary and Emma Haferkamp;
siblings, Marcie Ives and Micheal McGee; brother-in-law,
Michael Gelushia; sisters-in-law, Janice Shuffield and
Diana Rowell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and good
friends.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at
Providence Hospice.
